Baba Jamal, 5 others lost to Joshua Akamba at the just ended 9th National Delegates Conference

Delegates at the 9th National conference of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) have elected Joseph Akamba as the party’s new National Organizer.

He is taking over from Kofi Adams who did not put himself up for election this time round.

Prior to the congress, Joshua Akamba was at the center of accusations that he had incited some students of the Tempane Senior High School against the NPP’s Free Senior High School.

In the build up to the election, Sammy Awuku, National Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), surprisingly rooted for Mr. Akamba to win the polls because he believed his victory will make the work easier for the two parties in the next general election.

Provisional results available to ghanatalks.com indicate that Mr. Akamba topped with 3,087 votes, after a fierce completion with six other candidates.
